Easy Cold Press Coffee At Home
Did you know…
That coffee is actually a great source of antioxidants? Well it is! Great news for coffee lovers! And now thanks to cold press you can enjoy your coffee on a warm day!
To get ya started…
You’ll need a french press to brew cold press. I’m by no means a coffee connoisseur, BUT I do like to share why we exclusively brew french press coffee in our home. The back story isn’t really necessary but I love telling it so buckle up :)
Back when Josh and I were engaged, we knew we wanted to make the move out west after we got married. So we planned our first road trip to scope things out. We had Bend, Oregon in mind because we’d heard it was beautiful, had a lot to offer for two lovers of the outdoors, and we knew people who used to live there who had great things to say. This trip was a big deal for a few reasons. By this point (March) the majority of our relationship was spent long distance and we were suuuuuper eager to spend an extended period of time together (one whole week!) In addition to possibly choosing where we would live as a newly married couple, it would also be our first time ever camping together, which was a big deal since we both were (still are!) such avid campers. We wanted to be able to enjoy coffee around the campfire, so on a whim I bought a french press from Target. At the time I was working my first hospital nursing job and drinking coffee from an old coffee maker my mom gave me, so I honestly didn’t know anything about brewing coffee and the only pull to the french press was that we’d be able to pack it with and use it in the woods.
Well, we loved the french press, loved Coeur d’Alene, Idaho even more, and ended up ditching the coffee maker :) Besides being able to use our french press when we camp, we lovvvveee the coffee it brews. Grind whole beans fresh for the best taste (and a bigger antioxidant boost!) Personally we love dark roast in our home, specifically from our fav local coffee shops (no Caribou thank you) but you do you.
